As a child I drew constantly. I dreamed of being an artist. That’s the reason why I went to college and majored in—Psychology. My mother asked me why I wanted to become a psychologist when it was so obvious that I was born to be an artist. I told her that all the money was in medicine, not art.

While enrolled in college, I took a Life Drawing class. After the first week the teacher pulled me to the side and asked me what was my major. I told her and she replied, “Give it up.” I’ve been an artist ever since. The moral of this tale: listen to your mother.

Thanks for your comments.  I am working on some very serious social commentary paintings that are not on here yet.  I truly think they are going to be controversial.  That is truly not the reason I am doing them.  They really move me and make me think.  Coming soon to a site near you.

I really have been concentrating on a lot of black and whites lately.  Not really sure why?  just worked out this way.

Thank you so very much for your honest critiques of my work.

Strong portraits!  Very dignified and well painted/drawn.  Lots of character in them.
