I've been painting in oils since I was sixteen years old- and that's a long time! I graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 1982. I've painted ever since, although returning to school at the University of Pennsylvania had me slow my production way down for a while.
I work part time at a library, and teach a couple painting classes a week in the evenings. I'm raising my two teenage kids, who keep me busy but happy. I paint as often as I can, but prefer working in long sessions three days a week- which lately just isn't possible!
The last few months I have been painting much more quickly than the way I normally paint. I'm pushing myself to work very small, and finish up within one day, but two or three days at the most. It's been fun and challenging to work so quickly. I am after only that which matters most.

Sunny days
a free schedule so I can paint without distractions

rain
messes

reading and more reading
long walks
biking

You have some great work. Love the "plein air" looking ones. Great values.

I'm a friend of Johnny golds, he told me ta check your work out. I think your works are fantastic! I like your compositions and great use of color. Even though I'm a surrealist, I appreciate fine art (bravo) Keep up the good work!!

Your work is more interpretive than photographic, and that's what higher training will provide for the artist.

Thanks for visiting my page and the compliments about my work.  I try to keep my eyes open and when a subject captures my interest I just click away with my camera.  The subjects of my paintings usually come to me when I'm out and about, but sometimes I purposefully search for just the right thing.

I admire the loose application and freshness of your paintings.  Keep finding time to paint!
