Cool paintings!  I love the red tractor and yellow schoolbus and regret not taking a photo of one when visiting the US earlier this yr.  Dianne

Thanks for the welcome. I really like your traditional painting title. The loose brush strokes are wonderful.

I like that rooster, he looks a bit threatening and sinister, just like a rooster. A fellow VCU grad, huh? The last one of us I ran into had ended up a Richmond city cop. Great school though.

Hey Steven, It's been a while, got time for a chat? I'll be in the
studio all week; do you have Skype? Let me know when would be a good time and your new number (if it's changed since the move) so it can be on my dime. I look forward to catching up.

    Cheers, David

    Dear Rooster,

You have a proud and virtuous heritage and why not just go for that. We artist types are always overthinking these things at any rate.

A quick internet seach offers the following snippet:
"The Rooster is a Chinese symbol of honesty, as well as physical and moral fortitude. It signifies fortune, luck, fidelity, protection as well as bossiness." (Well, 7 out of 8 ain't bad.)

Signed, Tangerine (and I don't know why that, either)

PS, Thank you, and also as a side note I never do crosswords either and only took up the coffee habit a few years ago. Visually, though, I like the patterns it creates.

In answer to your poll, "What animal should I paint for my new profile picture?", I think the Rooster suits you just fine. Or any other animal you choose to portray.

    Signed, the Tangerine.

    PS, Lovely work as always.

    Hello,

I am not currently part of any group, but Columbus is up and coming in the art world.  You probably have already heard of the Gallery Hop that takes place the first Saturday of every month. It is a great oppurtunity  to meet artists and see the galleries new exhibits. Also right now, Children in American art is showing at the Dayton Art Institute, with Masters like Copely and Watson.
