Hello fellow artists and art lovers,
Here's a little background information about me.
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, and moved to the United States in 1986. After a career in another field, I attended Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where I graduated with a B.A. in Art in 1995.
I have exhibited my work since the early ‘90s in a variety of group shows and one person exhibits in the United States and Europe. One of my watercolor paintings, Gathering Storm Clouds, was published in How Did You Paint That? 100 Ways To Paint Your Favorite Subjects, vol. 1. International Artist Publishing, 2004.
Watercolor is my primary medium, occasionally combined with gouache or casein. While my choice of subject matter is not limited to one category, I am especially fascinated with scenes of city life, for which my travels form a source of inspiration. Besides Holland and the U.S., I have also lived in Italy, Germany, and – most recently – Turkey. I now live in Illinois with my husband and daughter.
In October 2007 I joined the growing ranks of daily painters, completing a small painting (almost) every day, which I post on my
daily painting blog . I will post some of these small paintings here, as well.
