I am a huge music buff, and go through cycles. Right now I am really into The Cowboy Junkies. But I have my definitive favorites: Indigo Girls, Kristen Hall, October Project and Tori Amos. What attracts me to a certain artist is the lyric. I am really into the story of a piece of music. I love where music takes me, much like my art.

I am a voracious reader. Sometimes I read 3-4 books at one time. My favorite books are anything by Michael Thomas Ford and Augusten Burroughs. But I love On The Road and am currently reading the bio of Peggy Guggenheim and an incredible book titled "Letter's to a Young Artist."

My favorite movies are Pollock, Basquiat and The Hours. But I watch movies all the time and unless they have gratuitous violence and fall into the "slasher" genre I can usually find something I like.

I am a self taught artist, living in the midwest. I was born in Southern Indiana in a town called Madison. But I have lived in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Louisville and currently live in Carmel In (a suburb of Indianapolis). My dream is to live in either Nashville IN or Asheville, NC.

I am definitely turned on by the artistic process itself. I get excited not only by my art but any type of art. Viewing other peoples art can absolutely turn me on. The act of creation is my driving force. I have been an artist for as long as I can remember. And I wouldn't want any other life.

Closed minded people. Gallery owners not willing to take a chance on new, "undiscovered" artists. Another turn off is people who push for the meaning in art rather than just let the art enter them and seek it's own individual voice.

I love to be outdoors, I love to camp and hike and just be in nature. Of course, I love to paint, draw, write and work with glass. I guess you could say I am a design geek.

Thanks for reading my new blog, and visiting my website.  Wildflowers was alot of fun to paint.  I was experimenting with brushstrokes all going in the same direction.

Your artwork has a Tim Burton feel to it for me (and I love Tim Burton!) I always thought his imagination would be a fascinating place to be--I imagine yours to be as well!  Your title might also work well for illustration for children's literature, if that area holds interest for you.  Can't wait to see more!
