Left CT at 17 for NYC. Fashion Institute of Technology graduate, worked in the fashion biz for 25 years. Returned to CT, married and moved to NJ, then NYC. I wrote three well-rejected novels while my husband toiled at IBM. Cancer came, we moved back to CT. I am a caregiver since 2004. My art keeps me sane, inspired, hopeful. We live on the water, the CT side of Long Island Sound. It's perfect.

Thanks for checking in - and Happy New Year : )

I had a few commissions at the end of the year and I squeezed in some of those abstracts in between because I hadn't done one in a while. I'm currently doing a still life from a photo a took a while back. I hope to get off to a good start painting-wise this year.

I know you're always fighting back and you'll continue to do so. If you were a quitter you would have quit a long time ago with all the things you've been up against. BUt you're a strong person and have much to give this world.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback about the acrylic class : )

Stay positive! Talk to you soon.

Lisabeth, Thanks for the nice words about my pastel paintings. I have been painting in pastels for about as long as I have been living in Maine (about 25 years), so I guess you could say I'm a seasoned pro. I go sketching/painting at Orr's/Bailey's Island all the time. Ya just can't beat the coast of Maine. Your sunflower painting(?) brought me lots of "Happiness".

Thanks for the comment on "Retrieving the Wild."  It was a dream and somehow I knew it meant that I had to find time for painting--no matter what else was happening in my life.  Sometimes it's hard to say, "My work is important to me."  That painting was my statement to everyone who makes demands of my time that I need to paint and I will paint whatever I choose--you'll find me in my workshop.

I've read all of your blogs, admired your work, and know you've had some difficult times.  You probably saw an echo of yourself in "Retrieving."  Keep working.

Lisabeth! Me again...thanks also for your encouragement on Sit Down Sad Chair...this painting holds a special little place in my little heart. It is warming to have encouragement for her.

Lisabeth,

I came across your "Artist" blog and took a look at your Gallery.  I am in ga-ga about your art!!  I absolutely love your integration of YOU and Nature.  The elegance of nature's art is sometimes missed, but you give it the lead-role in your art.  Very cool.
