Your series on eggs is eye catching.  It also reminds me of the eggs I struggled to peel the other night for deviled eggs.  Great work.

Hi K,

That eggshells painting is wonderful. Believe we may have uploaded some .jpgs on the same night in February. One of my friends went to Main Gallery instead of My Gallery and thought I painted it. I wish! Anyway, I sent her to your web site and hope it results in a sale for you.

Great work.

Wow! Your paintings are gorgeous. It's funny I spend so much time getting the eggs glowing and whole and here you have a heap of broken ones. What a dynamic!

How did you get the text juxtaposed over the background on the website? Very cool.

K:  The answer to your question is yes, I ususlly underpaint my landscapes with acrylic paint.  I have heard since 1972 that this is acceptable and my experince is that it is as durable and permanent as painting directly on the primed canvas.  Since most canvas today is primed with acrylic gesso, which is basically white paint with a little marble dust in it, I do not see any problem.  I personally have never had a problem.  However, I must qualify this by saying that I only use artist quality oil paints.  I did hear one rumor that there could be a problem using the water soluble oil paints this way.  The person that told me this, was someone that I had never met before and I do not know how reliable the info is.    Good luck with your oils.  Your work is really stunning.  RW
