I saw a lot of artists incorporating collage and stencils this past week...must be cutting edge.  The Vermont Studio Center week was an inspiration, since we are in the habit of collecting and sharing inspirations!  Have a look at my new image...about 4.5x5.5 feet each..

happy dayz

Kara,  You bet I miss the hills and mountains, but I still see my best friends and family on visits.   I think Chattanooga is more mountainous and   Memphis is probably flatter and muggy in hot weather because of the moisture in the air.  Same here in Florida, but winter is very nice.  Joan

I'm back again.    Just wanted to say a quick thanks for the compliments you recently left on my paintings "The Dancers" & "Ford Lake Water Lily".

I checked out mayyoubehappy.  Pretty cool.  I've been reading the quotes there and also a few of the other writings.  I found out about Byron Katie through Eckhart Tolle's Findhorn Retreat DVD.  (He briefly mentions her in it.)  So, I've only known about her for a few weeks.  Her "work" is very interesting.  I might have to pick up her "Loving What IS" book sometime.

Have a radically awesome day,

Thanks for the comment on 'The Haast River Valley'.  It's on the south island of New Zealand.  My wife and I did a bicycle trip there and it was one of my favorite parts.  I wish I could have spent more time there with brushes and paint.  Ireland is also on our list of places to visit - maybe if the dollar rebounds a bit......

Hey Kara!  I couldn't get my other message sent to you; It said your message box was filled.  So, I'll just paste my reply here:

That is an interesting "coincidence"! I feel 100% sure you'll like
the book. I gave it to my mom for a gift (over a year ago) and she still
thanks me! And, she loved it so much she gave it to my aunt, who then
went on to give it to her sister, and so on. I don't want to oversell
the book, but it seems to really speak to people. I hope you thoroughly
enjoy it!

I've read so many good books, it's really hard to choose!  Really, really, really hard!  I'll start out with this one (Everyone I know who's read it, LOVES it!):  "It's Not About The Horse - It's about overcoming fear and self doubt" by Wyatt Webb

I am doing great btw! - Thanks for asking!  I am a bit tired right now though; I just spent a million hours watching Byron Katie on YouTube.  Now my eyes have gone all "buggy".  Time to rest.

Have a good one,

-Jendria
