Thanks for your comment- I do seem to be drawn to anyone who photographs, paints, or otherwise depicts trees or any parts of trees. I absolutely love the photo- and if we didn't have 4 feet of snow (literally) in the woods right now I'd be out photographing them- but amateurly at best. Your photo is wonderful.  Now I want to do one from the "looking up" point of view.

Hey, I did the best I could on the snow (I still have 12" on the ground), and thanks for the complemenet on my new posting.

wow...  Machu Picchu....   I hear its a major tourist trap now...  I've not been...but I heard that there is some stone you rub your forehead on... and you see the spiritual world....  gotta try that, even though I drank a single malt scotch in Ireland once.. and a coulda swore...  :)

I've been to Lima and went to Iquitos on the Amazon once...

Europe....  I love Italy.. Venice... with the right person would be great!!! Have not done that yet.... I mean with the right person...   Greece is Awesome...   but  Calcutta...  really brings things into perspective.

I lived in L.A. (USC)...  but I really like San Diego..   Mendocino is nice.

Hi Kara...  'Eye of the beholder' .... oh yes.

I like so many different places in S.A...  but my favorite is the Mendoza area in Argentina... Base of the Andes... grape harvest time now...lots of great Malbec wines...  and that view...sheeesh... to die for.

Only my oils were done on raw canvas... I've stayed away from that since then... but I like the look.

Are you a Tennessee native?  I lived in E Tenn...  Johnson City for a while.

Hi Kara, Glad you liked 'Dawn'..  I agree sometimes its 'Dusk'...  'Vanice' was done on raw canvas... no gesso or primer.  That was my first ever landscape. All my first paintings were done like this.... oil on raw canvas... I didn't kow any better!!!  I guess it rots the canvas..with time...  Good thing I was using Rust-o-leum paint!!!!! Thats all I had!!!  Acrylic on raw canvas is better... I hear.  I really like the look of it, though.  Thanks for visiting my gallery Kara, and your kind comments.
