interesting...

whatis a typical sale price in that arena? just curious, and you don't have to tell me if you don't want to... but i am guessing there is a magic number?

i have been thinking that might be the way to go here, and i have some possible opportunities for that.

its also different with portraits. right now i am working on a series of paintings, and they are more abstract portraits, similar to my digital work, but painted. was hoping to get into a gallery with those, but if not, i will pursue other avenues.

LA is great, but its a tough artists community. i have been in a few group shows, but have not yet found a gallery that is a perfect fit. i do so much commission work that i'm almost better off without the representation, and dealing with clients one on one. i am trying to think up creative ways to connect with clients who might want portraits. increasing my workstream would be great!

btw time traveler's wife is the best book i've read in years...i can't find anything i like as much!

Hi there!  I put different photographs together through photoshop.  I select different parts of each image and then put them all into one new composition.  It takes a lot of playing around, but eventually you find a combination that fits.  The key that I have found is to use only sections of each photograph.  For example the sky is from one, the flowers are singled out from another, the trees from a third, and then the writing is in a layer inbetween them.  Give it a whirl and send it to me, I'd be happy to show you a few fun tricks if you would like!

Deepak has always been a favorite,and Gary Zukav and Wayne Dyer are also favorites.  Eckhart Tolle is newer and I know he is great as well.  I read anything in this venue and have two bookcases full of books from the years previous.  The messages are similar.  We must find the one that resonates with us and follow the teaching.  I believe that these leaders are given to us at the time we need them. We as artists give the teaching back in a visual way.  We are teachers to those who maybe will internalize what is given in the work of art that is produced rather than the word that is written.  But just the act of producing art is healing for the artist as well as the viewer. That is the FLOW that you are speaking about.

Thanks for your comments on my painting, "Wicca Soul". I was very fascinated by your photo "The Treee"  Your photography and paintings are quite impressive.  Good texture and composition. You seem to respond to nature in your work.

Thanks for your comment- I do seem to be drawn to anyone who photographs, paints, or otherwise depicts trees or any parts of trees. I absolutely love the photo- and if we didn't have 4 feet of snow (literally) in the woods right now I'd be out photographing them- but amateurly at best. Your photo is wonderful.  Now I want to do one from the "looking up" point of view.

Oh yes..  the US has its own great places...  Yellowstone...  Blue Ridge...  do't forget that little canyon... and my fave... Clingmans Dome in the Smokys.
