Actually, I just started with the trees in February. I LOVE working on them.  I work 8-5pm in a vet clinic- so I can only draw after everything else is done for the day.  I'm trying to finish one a week. I'm always working on 2 at once- and I have at LEAST 10 tree ideas on a list on my drafting table.  Do you make a living with your art?  That's where I'd like to be, me and a million other starving artists.

Thanks for the encouragement.....Sue

There wasn't anyone looking out that window in Old Selma watercolor, but now that you mentioned it I am very tempted to go back and enhance that spooky mystery person in the shadows. -Jared

Thanks for the comments on Adam and Eve.  The figures are graphite enhanced lighter fluid transfers of Albrecht Durer's Adam and Eve.  The landscapes behind the figures are the people's characters, personalities.  Yes, there is a lot of symbolism, and symbols.  I like to use different symbol types, architectural images, and themes from nature, like the sun and rays of light.  It's a favorite piece, only available in Giclee, because I don't plan to sell it!

Yes, Krakauer is a new favorite of mine. A friend recommended I read Into Thin Air and it was one of the best books I've ever read. Now I'm hooked on anything Krakauer writes. I did see Into the Wild and loved it. Sean Penn did a great job with the movie. I'll read the book after I'm done with one of Krakauer's other books - Under the Banner of Heaven. Also excellent if you haven't read it.

I see you have The Breakfast Club in your movie listing - the quintessential 80's movie. One of those movies no matter how many times you've seen it you'll watch it again.

Ok, time to get back to painting...I have a portrait I need to finish by Friday.

Your work is awesome.  I love artist that try many different things and continuously try to create new things.  So many people try to tell me to stick to one title.  That makes no sense to me.  Oh well.  To each their own.  Keep up the awesome work.

You have great work. The organic colors and shapes of your abstract pieces are inspiring. I especially enjoyed "Serene Water" and "Flow".

I enjoyed your comments on my paintings. You're right, masks are intriguing in themselves. I love to take the strong characteristics which are innate in each of them and find ways to present them in a manner often contrary to their original intent....

Thank you very much. I find birds fascinating but portraits make people happy but are very hard for me.
