I love all kinds of music, rap, soul, blues, rock, ---just every kind. My favorite band ever since high school is Cheap Trick! Seen them 6 times and know all their music by heart. I also like the band Jet. They are newer and sound like Cheap Trick and the Beatles combined.

Like movies, i don't read much.(short attention spand) I do like newspapers and art magazines though. -Art Calendar

I love movies that portray famous artists. My favorite movie is "Basquait". He had it going for him, being friends with Warhol and exhibiting in some of the major museums in the world. He couldn't get off the drugs though and had a very short career in art.

I am a Surrealistic painter that has been working in the surreal style for over twenty years. I live in the midwest where the majority prefer landscapes and wildlife art. My work deals with social and political issues, documenting lifes events and happenings through paint and a brush. I have exhibited nationally and abroad. My art has been featured in numerous magazines such as "Manhattan Arts","Surreal",and "Artpseak".

I like people who are real .but are afraid to look at the world differently( Surreal). I love it when people viewing my works challenge me and question my ethics and ideas on this world we live in. If someone says that they don't like my work (titled to their opinion)thats ok,but if someone likes my works, I've done my job.

I don't care for people saying my art is bad or wrong when they don't follow up with a reason. Things I don't agree on in life include taxes, playing the race card, random traffic stops, heaven and hell, using paper products, cut flowers, etc..... plus thousands of other items.

I love to play texas holdem. I have been playing tourn. cards for years. (Pretty good if you ask me) I also like to bike ride in the summer. play frisbee golf is a blast plus time consuming.

Thank you James, for your comment on my work.   I've just started taking photo's of my work since I've been in Maryland.  I travel alot.  I'm not in one place for very long.   I only have the paintings that I've done here in Maryland.  There are a few more I need to put on.  The web site is a new thing for me as well.  I'm not much of a computer person.  I have lots of work back at my permenant home in NH, but no photo's of them, yet.  I'm really just starting to get serious with my Art.  Thank you for your encouragement.

Your Art is amazing!  I love the political statements behind them.  I always found that extremly hard to do.  I admire your success.

Hello James,

Thank you for visiting my page and for the lovely comment on my art.

I am happy for you that you are doing well with your art and exhibiting in different countries, the way to go. I hope that you do not rush selling your work unless you are pleased with the prices!

Kind wishes,

Mona

Hi,

THanks for you comment. I do paint in oils and I am looking into getting back into that! Your work is really intersting as well. I like how you look through out the piece and find different images and messages to go along with it that makes you want to know more.  I also really like the scale of your work. It seems as if it fits because you have a lot to say.

Thanks for the support.  Most of my new work is Acrylic on clayboard.  I started out watercoloring, then oil painting.  So I do a lot of glazing in acrylic. I have a surreal streak that pops out now and then. I honor that you make political art that is packaged in a surrealists eye.  Thank you for speaking out through your art.

Hi James!  How are you?!  Thanks for posting on my page!  I took a look at your art as well and immediately had such admiration for you, you don't hesitate in expressing yourself that's for sure!!  I really enjoyed your gallery and with so much to say, I'll be back browsing thats for sure!  I can only hope to paint with such freedom!

Now to wine! We produce some really great wines here in the Okanagan...the South Okanagan Wine Festival starts right about now, so looking forward to doing some tastings this Sunday.

I'll have to rent "Basquait', just saw Girl with a Pearl Earring with Scarlett Johansson and enjoyed that alot.

Hey, thanks. Yeah those ears are real. In fact, I chose to do this guy just because his ears were so big that the camera couldn't focus on them and his face at the same time. ain't that something? I do do some crappy paintings in my spare time. I use a ton of found wood that I clean up(in New Orleans 9th ward it's especially easy to find some cool pieces). I've never got into oil (not for any particular reason) but i am slowly falling in love with india ink and colored pencils. I try to carve out my images in the wood, but only when I have some time because the only tool I have here at my house for that is a cork screw and a small pocket knife. I'll try to put some stuff up but I don't have a camera...I did want to tell you that you tattoo is crazy cool. I do tattoos at home (I don't have any so no one will hire me) but what it reads I think that more people need to think about it :)And I love your work and political tie ins. I think they're great.

 Thanks for the comment
