An artist living and working in New England, Gregory paints landscapes using vivid and extrodinary colors. He describes his work as expressionist, after the movement that arose around the time of World War One. He has been influenced by their subjectgation of realism in favor of the use of form and color to portray stronger feeling, imaginary scenes or symbols their work.

Gregory also sculpts, and this discipline has influenced his approach to the simplification of forms in his painting.

Thanks for your comment about my colored pencil piece. That one was done on a bright orange Canson Mi-Teintes. A lot of tooth does show through but it creates a harmony around the picture. I usually use some color of Canson or the Ampersand pastel board. Betty

mylar, and lino...now theres an idea...I've been using canvas paper....just sheets of prepared canvas that come in a pad like water color paper.  it's not easy to cut our tiny bits like in these paintings...

HI Greg,  thanks for the info I'll check your friends site out...I create all my own stencils, occassionally I purchase if the 'cutting out' is just to extensive..I don't have a long attention span...

To answer your poll: Yes, I guess I paint nudes.  I paint "draped" nudes and have no trouble exhibiting these anywhere - or selling them.   me
