An artist living and working in New England, Gregory paints landscapes using vivid and extrodinary colors. He describes his work as expressionist, after the movement that arose around the time of World War One. He has been influenced by their subjectgation of realism in favor of the use of form and color to portray stronger feeling, imaginary scenes or symbols their work.

Gregory also sculpts, and this discipline has influenced his approach to the simplification of forms in his painting.

You have definitely lost it, nice profile photo above .. you are going to get kicked off of scuttlebutt for being too funny. and OK, I did have alot to say yesterday but now I am at peace and after my blog about cohesive work have decided to just add whatever I want whenever I want.. Scuttlebutt is not the same as applying to a juried organization and I need to lighten up but keep forgetting to do that.
So you are into showing off with html these days, I admit, I am impressed.

Yes, I am doing the Northampton show end of May and if I am lucky my son will come to help me load and unload but sometimes I do the shows alone and that works for me because in case you could not tell, I can be very anal. I have developed a few friendships with fellow artists and its almost like being in a 'club' when you do these shows year after year. I always make sure I have fun in case I dont have sales. There is a furnituremaker from Northampton that has a party the first night of the show at every show and its the nicest gathering - he and his wife do this for close to 100 artists and they dont charge and they do serve an incredible food spread.. if you go to the May show I will introduce you to Ken Salem although he may be considered competition in the woodworking department. Why dont you check out the Paradise City show link to see who is going to be there and what a sample of their work is like -

The 2 nude figures, HIS influence, and of course all the gold curly thangs....

I spend more time doing no thing!  than I spend doing something....or so it seems...traveling in la la land.

hey...i will check out New Gamboge Lake.  i don't have it and it sounds like a beautiful color plus it has the bonus of intrique regarding its history.  i've been using lots of gamblin colors in the last year or so.  their radiant series--quite intense.

I was thinking that it makes sense that you would forget how to paint while wood working, and forget how to woodwork while painting!

I'm assuming you can really get into the moment when you are doing either or.....I think your work shows that flow anyhow!

I get a headache trying to focus on the details required to cut and paste and focus exactly correct for html which is probably the reason why I pay someone to maintain my website! One day when my brain is empty looking for something to put in it, I will refocus on html but it just doesnt come naturally to me.

I am looking forward to recycling a damaged frame with the help of my framer, plus I want to make more new art now that I am on a break from teaching. One of my students posted work on the site last night.. I wonder if you can tell who it is..

html... how did you make that painting image connect to your website? how did you drop it into the message box? I want to know! html fascinates me and I have always felt dumb with behind the scenes internet stuff but I do know the more visibility online, the better.
