I have been painting for about 8 years now, and just began working full-time as an artist in September 2007 when my husband and I created Goble Studios. My first artistic passion is working in watercolors, which I studied in college, and have won awards both at the national level and the local level. I also find enjoyment in providing graphite pet portraits for pet lovers of many kinds, and painting murals, both in homes and businesses.
I am a member of the Watercolor USA Honor Society and the Lancaster County Art Association.

I invite you to visit my websites to learn more about myself and Goble Studios, and to enjoy more of my artwork.

Painting and drawing of course (although it is a job at times). Camping, hiking, and biking with my husband, playing with our dogs, running, playing piano, activities with church, just looking at the world around me.

Hi Diane, thanks fo the compliments on my work. To answer your question, I used to paint plein air quite a bit, but over the last 10-15 years I alomost exclusively studio paint. I've always been a fan of trying to use a natural looking pallette.

Hi Diane, The original painting is 24x36 oil on canvas and is in our living room. The version you see on the net was digitized using a Hasselblad(sp?) with a 17 meg sensor. It was photographed by my son in law who has a commercial photography studio in San Francisco. The maximum size of any print depends on the resolution you were able to afford and a low ISO (less digital noise). The largest print I have made was 12x24. I use Photoshop Elements  to change width to height ratio and I print on canvas With an Epson R1800 ( limited to 13x44inches). Thanks for your comments and your work. We put up a banner in our church with verse you selected verse on it. Its wonderful. best Wishes - Walt

I am looking to do another mural, and am swimming about with pricing it.  Since I usually work oil on canvas, I have a ballpark price of $150 a square foot or so, but that puts it out of the range for most of the institutes I would want to approach.  Any suggestions?

Wonderful, beautiful work!  I too decided in late 2007 to pursue my art career full time.

All the best,

Darlene

Oh!  A quick question: For your murals, what paint do you use?  Is it latex or acrylic?

 Thanks for the info.

Hi Diane,

Were you ever featured in Artist or Art Calendar?  I swear I've seen that water color with the lock published somewhere.  Great stuff, BTW.  Congratulations on the mural.  Good luck with your new studio.
