HI- what's new? I havent blogged in a while- all this net stuff is time consuming. I had a busy summer and now I look forward to really doing a lot more artwork this fall. I am sitting the gallery on Saturdays now.

I love what you have posted in your gallery- the colors are great.

take care, chris

Suzanne, again, you have been very kind and encouraging with you words. Thanks. I do appreciate your thoughts.

I know what you mean about the regular pay check, or lack thereof. It does get scary when it is not coming in on a regular basis. Sometimes it leads to a lot of second guessing. Once I had a great job like the one you mentioned. After 9-11 the company went under and I've self employed ever since, or some weeks it is "self-unemployed" That "struggle" of trying to keep the "wolves" off the porch makes it tough to paint sometimes.

To answer your questions - I have painted off and on for several years, but only in the past 3 or 4 years have I gotten serious about painting in oils. (I have dabbled in many other mediums over the years) I remember drawing first when I was probably 5, but my mother remembers me drawing sooner. I wrote a little about that on my site- its called "Bio- or something like that"

I enjoyed the exchange and hope you have a great second half of the year. Your work is awesome and I hope it provides what is needed. I am looking forward to seeing more.  Seeing all your work makes me want to  get something painted...like right now. It's been a few weeks since I have painted anything.

Thanks for visiting and for your kind words about my work. To answer your questions about the painting with the boots, it is oil, but I am not sure how long it took to paint I worked on it when I wasn't busy trying to pay the bills...

Still trying to figure out this oil painting adventure.

Your web site is really well done. A great looking site. I checked out your work there and it is excellent! Your portraite work, both pet and people is awesome.

How long have you been doing the portrait work?

WOW! What I really like about your excellent images is your composition, particularly with the still life objects. It's challenging to make simple subject matter interesting and you nailed it. Fabulous!

I am just blown away by your work, especially the onion and coffee cup studies. Very, very well done. I am enjoying studying them.
