Hi there!
I live way up in the Northwest, about a mile from the water. I have been a heavy equipment mechanic and metal worker for 30 years, I'm beat! I need to switch to a full time Art art career due to slowly changing into a physical wreck. I have never attended any art class, college, or school, besides the school of hard knocks! I have been drawing since grade school, and changed to painting over the years. I have experimented with many different medium over the years. Part of my work includes photography, although I don't claim to be a photographer, and go by the name D.F. forkelheimer as such....... I paint almost exclusively in acrylics, and tend to take a long time finishing my paintings, sometimes an hour or two after coming home from work is all I can get done... Many of my works were compiled in the 10 years I spent in northern Michigan. I am very eclectic in my interests, in the art field. I will add to my gallery as time permits, and hope to have new works soon. A lot of my work is very time consuming, as you can probably see. ...Craig

Living in harmony with something besides a cell phone and a computer. (My own hypocrisy of course) Anything that really has nothing much to do with our imprint on the planet. Waking up for one more day!

Same old political crap...same people... different toga's. Our current state of lets use it all now, well fix it all later mode of civilization. People who consider a forest, a farm....need I say more?

Intricate inlaid wood turning, creating unique items. Gardening with water features. The great outdoors. Figuring how to make a living out of this talent that was somehow given to me.....

Thank you for the nice comment. and thank you for the name of the flower. I took a photo of one while in Calif. and thought it was beautiful but didn't know the name of it, so thanks ! I like Sequim, I lived in Seattle for 8 years and was a sales rep for the northwest so got to know it pretty well.

You have a very nice body of work.  Great talent.  I really like your passing of the storm, capturing the lightening!

Thanks for the nice comment on, "Don't follow me, I'm lost".  I don't usually do cityscapes, but, this one felt like me.

Hi, it said your message box was overfilled, so here is my reply to the message you sent to me:

Your painting really is serene and beautiful. - It's amazing what can show up in the midst of turmoil, huh?! :)

I
live in Michigan and I absolutely love traveling to the Upper Peninsula
and hiking around discovering all of the beautiful waterfalls up there.
It's a fascinating wonderland!

Thanks for the message.

Keep on creating that beautiful stuff!

The Very Best,

-Jendria

That drawing has so many faces to it I still new things everytime I look at it. I spotted the tree on the side of the road and took a picture of it for a later drawing. Half way into it I started seeing all these faces, but 95% of that drawing is actually the real tree. Mother nature is hard to beat. That drawing just won a regional drawing award at Newburyport Art Associaton in Mass. I can use the $175 price. The show opens Saturday night maybe I'll get lucky and sell it. I hope your doing well as a full time artist, it's tuff to make money these days.

I used to have an album called Butterfly Ball, have you ever heard of it? It was a movie but I liked the record better.

Sorry it has taken me a while to respond. Your comment of that barrel picture was great. What place did you work at....doesn't sound very fun...

Craig, I espeecially like your paintings of the old vehicles.  I was in your area last week.  Drove through Sequim to get to Port Angelos where I spent the day painting on the Spit.
