Thank you for visiting my page and for your very kind comments.  I also have been looking at your watercolor portraits.  They are so engaging and fresh.  I really like them.  Do you display in a gallery?  Lucinda

Nice site...I guess I need to train my brain for a new, very spare program.  My current one is stochastic, ei, if I put enough blotches up on enough pieces of paper I am guaranteed success!....Problem is, that set of papers has yet to be determined, and the number of brush strokes to guarantee success on each paper has to be notated in a scientific numbers!

I found I need to see the images lage to really appreciate the subtle quality.  You make it look like you just dab color here and there until this well proportioned human personality appers.  Whether it is as easy for you as you make it look, only you know,  But I know how tricky this really is to do.

I'm impressed by the subtle emotions you can convey with your delicate paintings. They're lovely. Betty

Thanks so much,  I heard it was out but I haven's seen it yet.  Do you read it online or the hard copy.  Again Thanks it was a thrill to do it. Pat

brstam - I often paint in watercolor. I love your works because they emphasize the inherent nature of watercolor (which is the quality that draws me to the medium) its unpredictability. Water is difficult to control and it often choses to do what it wants to do. However , as seen in your works, if the medium is allowed to do its own thing, the artist will have a pleasant surprise in the end. Your portraiture (which have to be the most challenging genre for watercolorists) is almost like stippling in watercolor. I think it is very well done. To combine sponteneity (sp?) with highly representational subjects is Awesome. JK

thanks for the comments, I like your portrait work....I recently bought a "painting the figure" book by Mel Stabin, and hope to get started soon.

I like your work. Do you only do portraits?

Thanks for visiting my page and complimenting my work.  I like your technique, and especially like the way you add accenting  blues, violets and greens in your skin tones.  good hearing from you!

Great work! Very loose but the personalities still show through.
