Hello, my name is Faith and I have always been interested in the arts, but have only recently discovered i can paint. My first painting was the one in my gallery called Riverpool i did in August of 07 and i still think it's my best yet. My cousin wanted me to paint him a river scene. I told him not to expect much because i have never painted before. To my surprise i was actually doing a good job. It was not easy in any way but considering how proud i was afterward and the fact that i can actually paint has turned me on to maybe the idea of a career in painting. All of the paintings in my gallery are just paintings i've done for family members. I am currently working on a new series of paintings that are a lot different from what i have done this past year. They will be more contemporary with a theme of nature. Oh one important fact i forgot to mention. All of my paintings are 2-D. Most all of the rocks in my paintings are raised from 3-10 centimeters. I think it gives it a little extra when the viewer sees part of the painting coming out at them. However that is one thing i find hard to capture when taking photos of my paintings.

You do a painting a day! I thought it was ridiculous to even consider it, but I was having so much trouble staying focused I thought I'd give it a try. Plus, this woman online has a daily blog that is amazing and I got so jacked I went to the daily painter's website. In order to be considered one has to have a blog on which they post their daily paintings for sale for several months. Then you can submit your blog. Paintings are usually done on smaller canvasses. check out my blog if you'd like...http://suzanneberry.blogspot.com/. it keeps me working. I've never been this committed. You work would be amazing. You are really gifted. Chat soon. my name is suzanne by the way.

Wow! For a beginner you are turning out beautiful work! I myself only started a year ago {with some dabbling when I was a teen.} I've been told that after you have done 100 paintings, you can consider yourself an artist. I can only imagine what you will be doing in a year. Keep up the great work. Rick

I really appreciate your comments on my painting Separating the Waters.  It means so much to me to know that people are touched by that piece.   I believe that our creativity is a gift from God, and so I strive in all my work to develop that gift and bring glory to His name.  Thank you for writing.  Your gallery is filled with incredible paintings; it's hard to believe you just started painting.  I'm looking forward to your new series.  Carmela

Thanks for your comment. As far as technique goes I always come back to asking myself "What's the light doing?" If you look at what's in light and what's in shadow it's going to help you figure out how to make things look 3-D. Hope that helps!

Hi, I like whats happening with your work. I wondered how you rendered the cliffs, they look so textural and well, rocky. Having read your statement I see the surface texture that you're describing. Keep it up!
