Thanks Alston.  I get in modes of doing something like reading and almost don't do anything else for a week or two. Same way with writing. I write for an Organic Gardening site where I am their featured writer and I write about 27 to 33 articles a month for them. It is GreenThumbarticles.com  I just finished an article called I Love Bok Choy and you can check out my gallery to see the painting I did for it. To date their site is not capable of putting up any pictures, but my "how to articles" site is and it enhances the articles.

Thank you for the welcome to the "fearless artists" and for visiting my page.  I consider it a compliment that you think my work looks bold.  A teacher once told me that often watercolor paintings don't reach their full potential because the artist believes the nature of watercolor is to be washed out.  On the contrary, with a little boldness and determination, watercolors are capable of producing amazing contrast and brilliance.

Waxahachie, Texas is a unique little town. It has many old victorian houses that were built around the 1890's by the cotton barons. Because of the many old buildings, several movies or parts of movies have been filmed in and around Waxahachie.

Bonnie and Clyde (1967), Tender Mercies, Places in the Heart (1984), Born on the 4th of July to name a few.

My wife and I stumbled across it about 20 years ago and love to visit. It's about 40 miles south of Dallas.

Thanks for your kind comment. I love those old victorian houses. Waxahachie, Texas has many of them. They seem to build them with more character back then.

Thanks, I am never good a tooting my own horn.  I know others who do well at it, and they do seem to have an elevated success level.  I guess I always thought it was a little snobby though.  I know I need to get over it.

thanks alston. you should see the place where i painted for 24 years. an old farm house on a dead end road with no indoor plumbing. had to use artificial light all the time because the rooms were so dark. if the desire is strong enough one could paint in a closet.....tom
