I live in Wisconsin with my wife whom I adore, and have been with since the 7th grade. We have 16 grandkids Brady who is 4 was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, he recently figured out that not everyone goes through all the crap he has to.
I Started painting July 13th 2007 because I couldn't afford to buy art so I decided to make my own.
People tell me I wasted 40yrs playing the guitar
I should have been painting.
I am self taught never went to art school or took classes.
People tell me they like my work, maybe they don't know ART or just can't tell me the truth.
I could really use some critique so please feel free.I paint mostly from photos or memory but I like to use my imagination also.

Love good coffee too.  But no snow?  Really?  ;o)  I like your clouds.  You seem to have a "thing" for them.

Hi!  Thanks for your compliments on my ACEO oil painting "Sunlight Winter Cemetery"!  I know what you mean about the older cemeteries and also about it not being "gloomy".  I feel like most cemeteries are quiet places filled with beauty - for those who have the eyes to see it.

You're awesome.  Keep up the good work!

I never heard of Tab Benoit until the man I date (who lives in cajun country) took me to the concert, he turned me on to him. He played with a band by the name of La Rue or something.

I like your work. I grew up out here in Wash., but spent 10 years over by Cadillac, Michigan. Everybody thought I was nuts because I loved to be out in the thunderstorms! (no thunderstorms here). I loved the way the clouds would be going 3 different directions when things really got rough. Try painting that!....Craig

I very much enjoy your work.  Some of it reminds me of New Mexico where I grew up. I too am now a Wisconsinite.  It seems there are a lot of very good artists in Wisconsin.  I have a theory that the snow and the cold keep us indoors - painting.

You mention 40 years playing the guitar.  I too have played the guitar since I was a child. Unfortunately, the music industry is a very hard place to be now.  I have a friend who plays weekly gigs in a jazz group.  The entire group is payed $100 a night for three hours.  That's exactly the same as my band was making in 1969!

Anyway, keep up with your art.  It's just a matter of finding your audience.  You know the old saying "Build it, and they will come".

Cheers....

Thanks for the comment.  The 2 girls are actually my grandsons...who the train is for and from where I got my appreciation for them.  I can't believe you just started painting...your work is really good.  You are definitely good enough for an art fair, but you may want to check them out first to get some ideas. They do sell tents to display your work, but they're not cheap.   You should check out a site called WetCanvas.com - it's a big website but there's forums with advice, learning, challenges, etc.   I just discovered it a few months ago and I love it.
