My number one favorite musician is Peter Gabriel, however I listen to quite a variety of music from classical to jazz, some other favorites are Annie Lennox, Indigo Girls, Paul Scwartz ARIA and ARIA 2, Julia Othmer I could go on and on...

I am currently reading Jack White's books about how to make a living as an artist-they are wonderful. You can download them from www.senkarikstuff.com if you don't have them already.

The Wizard of Oz is my favorite.

I have been practicing art from the moment I could pick up a pencil. Painting and drawing is my lifelong passion. I love the energy I get from the act of creating. I have just returned from the Artexpo NYC 2008 and it was great experience! I made some sales and I was picked up by a gallery in Marblehead, Massachusetts. I made lots of new contacts who I have been and will be following up with for the coming weeks! My beach scenes were a big hit! Check out my website www.heatherrippert.com

Thanks for the advice!  I'm reading one called "How to sell your art without selling your soul" or something like that.  Crazy overwhelming!  Good luck with your expo!

Heather, Thanks for visiting my scuttlebutt gallery and commenting
so positively! I went to your gallery and loved the luscious nudes and
marine works. Your treatment of waves/surf leaves me envious! Gorgeous!

Happy painting,

Carol Lois/Aquabelle

You would love Block Island. I go their once a year with my watercolor teacher and some from my class for plein air painting...in September when 90% of the tourists are gone, and the weather is perfect. I take my camera and lots of pictures for future paintings. It's such a non-spoiled island....lots of places to explore, walking, biking. I have a slideshow of paintings from there I put on my blog yesterday if you want to check it out. bunnygriffeth.blogspot.com

Hi Heather, thanks for your kind note that led to my finding your gallery. Beautiful work, all of it, you are very talented! Tollcross Sunset is especially striking to me, I just love that skyline with the chimneys and the bold contrast. What is the location? Good luck with your show!

Thank you for your nice complement about my "Rafting with Friends"
painting. I took a look at your paintings and do like them a lot. The
ocean is always a fun thing to paint. I mostly work in oils but I do
use acrylics from time to  time. I did use watercolors in school;
however, I just liked oils better. ALL watercolor artists have my full respect. I can be a much more challenging medium than people think. Keep up the great work!

Jack White is such an inspiration to me-and encouraging.  I am absorbing as much as I can.  Love your work!  Wizard of Oz is one of my favorites as well-  so scared of those monkeys though...

Hi, Heather, Thanks for your kind note. I'm looking forward to seeing
more of your work and to hearing how ArtExpo goes. I see you're reading
Jack's books -- he has great "how to sell" information that ought to be
useful for the show. Good luck! Hugs, Carolyn
