I am a painter and printmaker. My work is narrative in nature with close attention to abstract elements such as composition, texture and form. My interest in multi-cultural traditions, legends and folklore evolved into a personal mythology, constantly developing, and expressed in an array of art images and materials. I earned MA in art from Columbia University, New York City, NY, and MFA in Studio Arts from California State University, Los Angeles. My prints and paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the country and abroad, received many awards and were featured in numerous solo shows. I was published in several newspapers and magazines, including In Michiana, The George Washington University Literary Review, and Chicago BAC Journal.

Lea, I'm also in "What Does it Mean to be Human?". The photograph "Breast Cancer Ribbon" in my gallery here was also accepted. What a small world. The week long show in the storefront in Somerville, NJ was terrific. Our work and much of the work from South Africa was shown in connected spaces. There was quite a crowd for the opening.

Hi Lea - thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my photographs!  I am happy to add you as a friend.  I had a chance to view your gallery and website and have learned you are a fellow poet/writer.  I really liked the poem "Statement".  All of it, beautiful work.

I like how you use mythology to convey a message.  When I see your raven I keep thinking of Edgar Allan Poe's poem, "The Raven".

I look foward to chatting with you in the future.

Hi, Lea,
You may be talking to yourself until June 8 because I still have to put in about 70 hours on a book that's due on the 1st and then 45 hours on a book due the 8th. So I don't have one extra brain cell to think about anything else.

Sure,

I am actually a part of an artist group called Broadstreetstudio (www.thebroadstreetstudio.com)- We decided to join forces to handle the artworld as a team instead of as individuals.  We are organizing our third curated show at the time.  I will look at the forum and will do what ever I can.  I really think that artists should work together.  I really appreciate the friendship.

 Best, Jason

Okay, I'll be in touch when I have a little more time for that 'book editing discussion.'
