Just finished reading all three of Julia Cameron's Artist Way books and have been sharing an on line blog with 19 women and we are now working with the Sound of Paper. I also have been dabbling in to REX RAY's book about collage works he's done. And headed into the book Art and Fear

I watch alot of movies, but grown out of the scary ones.

I'm a Collage and papermaking artist. I also teach and demo's on Collage and papermaking. I do outdoor fairs and I'm building up the courage to start seeking galleries. But I'm doing pretty good with the little local cafe and artist guilds and leagues. I enjoy my walks in the woods for meditation in motions. I have 4 teens still living at home 2 in college and 2 soon to be. The Homestead is a busy place and loving every minute of it.
My website is at mochahost
My personal blog is blogger

What is your Teaching Philosophy?
My philosophy as an art instructor is to help student understand making art is a process and that through the process they will be exploring, experimenting, evolving and honing in on their own visual perspective of the world around them. I strongly feel art is about events happening in our every day lives and to capture that emotion, sound, color, taste, texture and perspective of your view is what becomes the artist's challenge, to seek and express. So I hope that I can inspire my students to do just that.

people who complain alot, are negetive and gossip.

Walking in the woods, resale shoppping, and hitting the dollar stores.

Hey Laura - thanks for browsing my gallery and commenting on my newest painting. After browsing your gallery I noticed the use of circles injected in your work. They are understated (except in the latest two) yet noticeable. I love your work. I've been intrigued by collage work but haven't tried any. For some reason it seems so much more daunting of a task than using paint alone. Yet I really like the results. Maybe I should keep it simple and just try a few small ones and just use a little collaging and build from there.

See ya around!

Laura, Thanks for the visit.  The piece you were interested in was rendered in 100% colored pencil.  The paper I used was low grade drawing paper.  Thhis peice started as a doodle.  Once completed I crumpled it up about a hundred times, then set it under a pile of books to flatten it out.  The results are what you see in my gallery.  The folds and creaes add a pretty cool visual tension, and barrier between the viewer and the work.  Thus the title "In Plain Sight".  We can see Peace, and it is attainable, but lately it seems there is much in the way of its progress.  Hope this is informative!  Thanks again,

Kevin
