Lauras Music

Just finished reading all three of Julia Cameron's Artist Way books and have been sharing an on line blog with 19 women and we are now working with the Sound of Paper. I also have been dabbling in to REX RAY's book about collage works he's done. And headed into the book Art and Fear

I watch alot of movies, but grown out of the scary ones.

I'm a Collage and papermaking artist. I also teach and demo's on Collage and papermaking. I do outdoor fairs and I'm building up the courage to start seeking galleries. But I'm doing pretty good with the little local cafe and artist guilds and leagues. I enjoy my walks in the woods for meditation in motions. I have 4 teens still living at home 2 in college and 2 soon to be. The Homestead is a busy place and loving every minute of it.
My website is at mochahost
My personal blog is blogger

What is your Teaching Philosophy?
My philosophy as an art instructor is to help student understand making art is a process and that through the process they will be exploring, experimenting, evolving and honing in on their own visual perspective of the world around them. I strongly feel art is about events happening in our every day lives and to capture that emotion, sound, color, taste, texture and perspective of your view is what becomes the artist's challenge, to seek and express. So I hope that I can inspire my students to do just that.

people who complain alot, are negetive and gossip.

Walking in the woods, resale shoppping, and hitting the dollar stores.

I just have to throw this out there to anyone who might be reading.  I've heard at one art show three different times,  "I want to see something different not the same art."  You know like Tuscany picture you see all over.  These people were thinking that no one was listening from behind the booth side but I was.  I thought that was wild.  Is that true are people looking for something different?  Well I know I don't fit in the europe area don't travel there and my work is usually from things going on right around me.  But it did get the curious side thinking.

Just finished my art fair show season and looking forward to the studio again.  I've had to focus on the show and getting everything down to what needs to be taken care of when I'm not at thehome stead too.  I do have some running this week to take care of and a small show to put up at a library.  yes I know what is a library that's not a gallery but I feel its starting to work an new area when I do a library show.  Getting people to see the work.  But that is on Thursday I set up about nine piece.  Tomorrow I had out to the city of Chicago and switch out work at one gallery and pick up work from another.  Then prepare for my class at night.  Last one and we will have a critque night too. Just rambling a bit.

Laura, thanks for poppin in...and for your kind words.."eatable" is good.  Checked out your collage/mixed media pieces--terrific work.  I was particularly impressed with 20/20 Vision.....excellent composition, the eye chart  support,  that crow....really enjoyed this piece.  I also liked "On the Wings"....those rich reds against the passive netrals, and your movement....great job.  I also really enjoyed your Untitled Collage Nude #2....rich.

Best regards....

Steve

At the two local art league's I belong to I have just been informed that I won a merit award for my piece called Summer's Edge and I won Best of Show for Collage Nude #1 and Sold Collage Nude #2.  So much abundance hard to breath...

Hey Laura!

Congratulations on your sale! That's terrific that you were able to settle on a price that was acceptable to both you and the buyer. I know what you mean about having a goal to sell work! Right now no one seems to be buying art these days.

Let me know how the sale of Nude #2 went. I'm curious about what final price was agreed upon as art is so difficult to price.

Thanks, Laura! I've had a look at you collages and assemblages, they're wonderful! I enjoy work that is so different from my own. I have some collage artists as students - they would learn much from you.
