Hi,  Thanks for your post.  I also like that you put God first.   I thoroughly enjoyed going through your gallery.  All your work is great.  My favorite is "In the begining".

Dear Brother Brian...the last thing I want to do is "down" the beautiful painting of Christ.  I just know from my experiences witnessing to people, that there are some offended by a honey-hair color and blue (not in your case) eyes.  Especially supporting Jews for Jesus people who are familiar with the area.  Most men in that era were clean shaven, with short (dark) hair and olive complexion.  I understand completely what you are saying, and I want to encourage you that this is really just critique without cause.  I'm so thrilled to see so many artists magnify Christ here at Scuttlebutt...LOL....and I really appreciate you as a brother in Christ!

re:The Great Mediator.  I know what you mean by saying "the stereotypical image of Jesus."  This is the only painting of the Savior that I've done because of that very reason.  In truth, I imagine someone quite different but I just don't know how to put Him into form.  I've been trying instead to put His spirit into my paintings of landscapes and still lifes.  The light represents his light.  Anyways, thanks for your kind words about the work.  By the way, I really like your work.  Thanks for sharing it.

Thank you for the nice comments. I sketched that picture on the canvas board about 6:00 in the evening, and it was pretty cold. But that was a long time ago and I didn't mind the cold then. I have some what of a different oppinion now about the cold.

nevetscillurstrations:  Thanxxxxxxxxx, I think, for the poll-ite response, although I'm still trying to figure out if you slapped me across the jowls with a hidden leather glove.

Thank you for leaving a comment. "On Becoming Jaya" concerns the spiritual journey that my sister undertook which led to her legally changing her name to Jaya Grace. You are correct that the background is from a carnival and except for color changes it is remarkably true to the photo straight out of the camera. "Faithball" attempts to depict a society where one's personal beliefs are often drowned out by those who believe that the loudest person is right.

Thanks for your comments on my Cosby painting. You are absolutely right - the ear is unpainted. The celebrity/politician images are all "in progress" stages. I plan on posting the final images after my senior show at AUM. - Jared
