Hello Nancy...and thank you.  "Going Bridal is pen and ink markers...including metallic ones...that's how I get the golds and silvers. Your work has a lot more feeling in it than this particular piece I just finished...I guess that's why I don't really like it too much.  It became a technical study of silver and gold, silver and gold...I need Frosty the Snowman to SING IT!

Hi Laughlines- Thanks the compliment about my painting "Tenderness".  I really like your piece entitled "Going Bridal".  Is it a painting?

thanks for visiting my site.

Your painting makes me want to go there, Joan.  I really want to see it in person...and thank you for your kind remarks.

HI, thanks for your  comments on my paintings. You should visit Rio Grande Gorge. It is beautiful. I have been there several times. Your paintings are exquisite.

Mr. Jerry:  (And any other interested artists):  If you ever swing around near my neighborhood...let me know, and I will give you directions to my place.  Artistic fellowship is like fresh air when there isn't much in the art arena except for the selected few!  Your work is good, and you will have to develop a thick hide because there will always be art critiques around to make you feel like a creative imbecile.  They hatch out of eggs as frequently as the spring chicks. And they squawk loud enough to make themselves look more important than the poor artist's work they are shredding apart!  Hahaha.  No, they're not THAT bad...I have a tendency to exaggerate!

Ms. Lina:  Thank you for going through my gallery.  I'm prolific for a reason...I didn't have a body of work to show for...was too busy raising a family and art really was on a back burner.  I also didn't have a place to work.  After winning a mural contest, I took the winnings and purchased a trailer and worked on it a full 2 months to become my dream gallery/studio.  I also worked like a 8 hour job every work day to produce art, good and bad, I'm afraid, to sell (All my work is priced, framed or unframed, for $200 or less...most originals sell for under $100).  Ther reason for that is that I want to stay busy.  I had time shock after my youngest went into school and I developed a mild depression.  So, I keep busy and hope to take in enough money to reimburse me for a mural ministry that I am interested in starting.  The kind remarks from you and other artists have really encouraged me, because I am working under cover and haven't yet displayed any of my work to the public...I may totally bomb...and I have to prepare myself mentally for that.

Laughlines,  I received all your messages.  Thanks so much for the encouragement.  I actually started drawing in grade school and wanted to take an art correspondence course (cost too much); so I always had this burning desire to paint.  When I finally started painting in the 70's, I did everything wrong.  I was self-taught.  Now, I think I'm doing better but still developing my title (whatever that is).  Speaking of Kansas and Missouri, I was near Carthage last week (had to come back to Bethany, Missouri for my mother-in-law's funeral).  Thank covered bridge, by the way, is in Bethany.  I painted both Stormy Weather and the Covered Bridge to enter in a black and white contest (got no where).  Thanks for your comments and encouragement.

Laughlines, I like your sense of humor.  And actually the field of sunflowers was near Denver International Airport.  But since you've clicked your heels together, you've already realized my love for sunflowers since I'm originally from Kansas.  Thanks for the comment.
