I appreciate all the fine artists here..especially Paints with Sticks and people of her ilk. There's been nothing but positive interaction here, but it hurts to realize that in my own area, I'm just a Stick in the Mud. (Ignored again by the art community for the major local show)...I'm a stick stuck in the real world, and I think it's time to disappear...er...from the fantasy world of loving acceptance from internet artists. Wish it were like that in Life. God bless you all.

Thanks Laughlines.  I enjoy painting them too.  I am trying to do some more abstract work lately.  The butterflies take alot out of me.  We'll see what comes of it.

You are too sweet with your comments.  As we get older, we stop updating photos.  I particularly like that image because it looks good - not because it looks like me.       me

Thanks for your comments about my Stained Glass version of the Tetons.  Your work is beautiful.

Brad...the most uplifting picture to me (that speaks to me spirtitually) is the saints, in white and sparkling linen, walking on the streets of gold.   Oh, how we need that vision before us in this world we live in.  I work with junior high students this week, and it's very energizing and depressing at the same time...I'm sure that you probably know what I am talking about.  Please keep painting in your encouraging and uplifting way, Brad, and God bless the work of your hands.

Laughlines,  Talk about a painting a day.  Witih all that you have posted on Art Scuttlebutt, I would think you've been doing a painting a day for some time.  A great collection of work.  You're way ahead of me.

Dear Laughlines,

Thanks again for noticing my work.  You asked how I go about painting glass, and so I'm going to try and answer that as best I can.

If you are painting glass, don't think about the glass- just paint what you see.  If an object is seen through the glass, but distorted, just paint the distortion.  Paint the colors you see, the shapes you see- but you aren't really painting the glass, just what is viewed behind it.

It's a matter of turning off your brain and turning into a kind of lens.

Hi again,

All is OK--I wasn't insulted--just confused.  Keep you chin up.  Life can stink but art can heal.

Thanks for taking the criticism well.  It's somewhat difficult to critique on the web without being able to show emotions or have a regular conversation, but I enjoy it nonetheless.

Thanks for the compliments about my work too.  The butterfly mural was completed in January.  It's the most recent mural I've painted.  At the moment I'm busy building my watercolor portfolio and working on pet portraits!
