I teach English IV (Gifted), Photography, and TV Broadcasting. Also, I write a weekly news column for the St. Tammany newspaper, The Times Picayune, and I freelance articles about whatever. I recently wrote one for a local magazine, Inside Northside, and it appeared last January. It was quite interesting to conduct the interviews with 4 local bakers who all took different paths to their careers and who all now make King Cakes from scratch. Right now, I have one of my photos on display at the Olde Towne Art Center (formerly Slidell Cleaners). I was flattered to be asked to submit something that represented where I am 3 years post Katrina in relation to the line, waterline that is.

Thanks for visiting my site. My daughter actually did this to "Goose", her dachsund. The scarf is 6 feet long. She adopted him this past summer- he adores her and would tolerate anything if she did it. He actually wore the scarf for quite awhile.

Well, I'll hopefully be showing in Slidell... but apparently it won't be until about 18mths after the Cultural Center is finished rebuilding.  Ugh.  So close, yet so far away.

Hi Kathleen,  Thanks for the compliment on my "red" dog.  I love painting them.  Your photos are great, I like the angle and perspective on the bakery window.  I have always wanted to do a painting of an interesting storefront.  Is Slidell near Picayune Mississippi? we adopted a dog from a shelter from there.

Mmmm, I was thinking more ubiquitous.  Let's see how many $5 words I know...this should be short-lived.

Dear Kathleen,

Thank you for expressing your thoughts about my work. What do you like writing about? How often do you paint?

I don't know what your conection is to Katrins, but now that you told me about the meaning behind the bricks. I fully understand. If I am not being to personal in asking, were you there. My neighbor is from New Orleans, and her parents still live there , In one of the few airas that were not damaged by the storm. I had made a mardi gras mask which I sold on E bay with all the proseads going to the releaf. But that was so little, with all that was needed. I am afraid with global warming we are going to see a lot more of this sort of thing if we don't do something to reverse it.

What?  You're EVERYWHERE, aren't you.  I think you're in my office right now...

Hi kathleen,

I enjoyed vewing your home page, but I would like to make one suggestion. I don't know the reason for putting the brick wall behind your work, but I found it to be distracting. Your work is so bright and I hate to see something distract from it. It also makes it hard to read any print directly over it. Perhaps if you pick something a little softer.  I hope you don't think I am being critical, It is just my humble opinion. Just food for thought.   ..............Sonja

About your poll:  I never heard of any of the options you listed. My inspiration comes from more than one source.  I want to do composition like DaVinci, brush work like John Singer Sargent, with the passion of Van Gogh and the lighting of Rembrandt. My subject matter is inspired by the late Charles Frace.
