ABOUT ME
I teach English IV (Gifted), Photography, and TV Broadcasting. Also, I write a weekly news column for the St. Tammany newspaper, The Times Picayune, and I freelance articles about whatever. I recently wrote one for a local magazine, Inside Northside, and it appeared last January. It was quite interesting to conduct the interviews with 4 local bakers who all took different paths to their careers and who all now make King Cakes from scratch. Right now, I have one of my photos on display at the Olde Towne Art Center (formerly Slidell Cleaners). I was flattered to be asked to submit something that represented where I am 3 years post Katrina in relation to the line, waterline that is.

Hi Kathleen, I've been meaning to thank you for inviting me to be a panelist, but have been out of town.  I was totally blown away by incredible presentations by your students!!  They were all so outstanding, and their professionalism far exceeded high school expectations.  You're such an outstanding teacher, and it really comes across in the confidence and poise of your students.  I was really really impressed!!

Thanks for your post on my 'inside the Wave"....I'm not a surfer either, but I've spent a lot of time in the ocean and in swimming pools, now that i'm older!  I'm a water sign, and I do believe that there is something to that...I love to swim and watch the water, I try to capture it whenever I can...thanks for your post!

I never thought of putting eyes in hair before, that's interesting. I really like the beadwork in that parade costume, you photo brings it out.

Thanks for the comments on my bridal portrait! Yes - the bride was very happy and so were the parents! Luckily she is the wife of a good friend of mine so I can still catch a glimpse of the painting hanging in their home. It was the first time that I painted on canvas mounted on panel.- Jared
