Mr. Gold-
I see that you added more paintings to your gallery. They look great.  Do you have anymore? I know you do. Write me and let me know when you are off work next. Ain't this site great!!!!!!

Oh man, I hit the button too fast. I really like your color sense. It will serve you well painting out doors.

Cheers, David

Hi Johnny, Thank you for checking out my work and the kudos’ sir. Plein air painting is as you described, mind blowing. I couldn’t do it for years until I learned some simple techniques for organizing the process. The best information I’ve found is from two British painters; David Curtis and Trevor Chamberlain. David Curtis has several DVD’s demonstrating his mastery. He still knocks me out although I now employ his techniques for outdoor painting. When I tried doing it again, I started with small canvas boards (6”x8”) and very simple scenes then built up from there. I now do a lot of small pochades (6”x8” color sketches) as field studies. I hope this info lights you up to do some work ‘out in the open air’.

Warm Regards, David

I enjoyed hanging with Black Cat for a while and my appreciation for him grew as I spent time with him. Beautiful lines, wonderful pallet, and what an interesting fellow. All of your work is strong and shows a confidence in execution and subject matter. Keep up the great work.   -Don

Johnny-
Thanks for the pictures. I got tired of the no photo box. We need to go over to Dick Blick soon.  Later-

yes, i am one of those people that jwh predicts will want to know/see more of your work. very intriguing palette as well as what i am interpreting (perhaps wrongly, idk) as cool deconstructed figurative works with some spiritual symbolism...? the more i look at them, the more interesting they become.

Johnny-
Glad to see you made a site. You'll find that there will be alot of other people that enjoy your work and will want to find out about it and you.  My arm kinda hurts from our frisbee golf game Weds. I painted all day yesterday and about finished a commisioned work.(downtown steeples) Now, get off the computer and finish those half done paintings that sit in your studio. Also, sell me those large canvases you never use.Talk vto ya later.          Jameswhenry
