I am an artist from Owosso, Michigan. I make everything in my 100 year old, way too cool, used-to-be-a-Cheese-Factory studio.

Here you might find me twistin' iron with my coal-fired-forge or smashing up a mosaic something. I enjoy working with most any material. I tend to go cRaZY with one then move on to the next. I'm currently painting abstract and impressionistic pictures with acrylics and oils, both are
LOTS OF MESSY FUN!!

I also like to collect things along the way that catch my eye, both new and old, and turn them into some very cool artsy thing. With a never ending whirl of thoughts, who knows what'll be next?

Oh Yes,  The sell, sell, sell is quite the challenge.  I am working on that, too.  I just turned "pro" 2 years ago- ha!  That sounds so funny- but, seriously, I am working on marketing more and more.  I'ts a real challenge and can be discouraging, but I love this job so much that I know I will just keep painting all of my life.  It's who I am.  I think you know what I mean.

Yes, this is fascinating. I left another comment.

I liked and appreciate your comments to my last blog. I agree with you. I did comment on your comment if you want to read it.  I, also,  have always heard we should study the work of others.  There comes a point where we have to know when to stop studying "them" and become "me".  We  have to learn how to take the idea and make it ours rather than follow their recipe.

Hello again Jen!

Thanks for the nice comment on my painting "Distressed Figure & Blue Window".  I too like paintings that keep your attention and reveal more to you the deeper you look.

Keep on creating those beautiful works!

I'm Brilliant? !  Yeah!!! That's good to know Deb.  Just kidding.  I'm much more humble than that. I do appreciate your critiques and encouragement. I'm working on the sell, sell, sell.  It's harder than it looks!

Owosso is in the middle of the "Mitten" about a half hour away from Lansing. If you see the UP, You've gone too far.

Jen-  your use of acrylic paint just sends me.  I love the way you use color and texture.  Brilliant!  I hope you sell, sell, sell!

p.s.   where is Owosso?  Up in the UP?   we were just there this summer...

Hello again,

Thank you for the compliments on my work!  "Dark Portraits" is one of my favorite "surprises".  Your encouragement and appreciation of one of my more expressive pieces means a lot to me.

All the best!

About my blog: Living for the moment is the artist in you.  You have to be a business person to make a living at art.  Contact me through the eMail address on my web site and I will answer the questions you posed.  If you are dead serious about making it as an artist, if you cannot breath unless you create, if you are willing to work your tail off and make some personal sacrifices for your art, send me your mailing address; I have something that will help you get started.

You have to look up Brunell; he's our resident "dumpster diver".  His work is amazing.

Thanks Jendria, I'm so glad you like my painting. All the of the paintings in this gallery are acrylic. I switched from oil to acrylic at the beginning of the year for quicker dry times and easier clean up. It took a bit of getting use to. The differences are night and day. I think my first few attempts were... well lets just so they are not posted here today.

Anyhow thanks for the input. I appreciate all I can get, especaily the compliments.

All my best,

Jen
