My paintings are inspired by nature and display my personal interpretations through the vibrant use of color. Spattered paint along with layers of glazes and washes are used to create key visual elements in my watercolor paintings. My artistic motivation is to transfer calm and inner peace by using simplicity in shape and color combinations.

This summer I spent time learning how to make books and incorporating sumi e ink drawings in my books. I hope to combine basic brushstrokes into watercolor paintings as a way of expressing in a more simplified and concise manner.

I find I am the most comfortable when I am surrounded by my artist friends.

I love trees. I love the mountains. I love painting landscapes.. I guess I'll paint just about anything depending on my mood. I believe on a certain level art is a form of individualized therapy.

A successful painting, or photograph, or sculpture, one that takes you to that place in your mind.

Hey I sold a painting!  Some clouds have a silver lining, and other silver linings have dark holes!  The piece is supposed to be hanging in a corporate office building for $950, and it was apparently sold at another auction for $100, run by another group in Burlington.  I know I am forgetful, but luckily, I have a signed contract with the Sales $ and insurance.  I will let you know what comes of that!

OK,  luck.

HI Robin, Did you have a good solo show?  It isn't JUST sales, either--don't be  discouraged ("do as I say, not as I do"!). ANyway, you must keep painting...be in touch. Jane

Hi Robin, I am glad that you like my art.  Yours is really beautiful and honestly I don't know which I like best....great colors.  Mine are watercolors and a couple of acrylics...I am new to the acrylics.  What medium are you working with?  Great Work, can't wait to have some more time to really ponder some of your pieces.  Nature is most amazing is it not?!

Robin,

The current  Art Calendar has a listing for submissions to a hospital for healing images, did you see it?

Hi Robin,  You have a gold star?  Does that make you more,... what?  IDK.  HA!  Still wondering what the whole star thing is anyway.  Doesn't make much difference to me-still love this website and all the fun stuff that takes place.   tata 4 now......    me

See Robin? I think Rome might be overrated.  The new National Geographic calls China the "New Paris" of our generation...so maybe I am right about your big trip needing to be Beijing.

Life is sending you a message, even if it isn't crumbs.  Good luck decoding...ask your son!

Perhaps our children ARE smarter, it is just so frustrating that they so enjoy reminding me of it on a regular basis.  It was sure humbling to watch my class of students grow better than me one way after another, year by year, when I was teaching my class at the Waldorf school those years.

So I can relate to the disappointment.

Wow, a GOLD star...If that isn't a crumb, I don't know what is!
