My life has been and is art, especially painting. Presently, I am working on marketing and creating several series of works. (Visit my website for more information on these new series.) I live intentionally and enjoy the moments in time. Although, I have painting mostly watercolors in the past, and still love the medium, I am presently working in Acrylics and doing more contemporary work. Going in this new direction has sparked in me new feelings of freedom, energy, and enthusiasm. Newly released paintings will be posted soon. My website- www.DebMagelssen.com and new blog- www.debmagelssen.blogspot.com

HI Deb, we have a lot in common in our views on life, at least I gather this from your  About Me and Turn ons.  I also am influenced by my surroundings and experiences when finding subjects for my art.....So many wonderful opportunities out there I can't just choose one.

YOur work really expresses a happiness and a joy...for me that is what art is about...giving the joy to someone that I myself had while creating it!!!!  Look forward to getting to know you!

Hi Deb,I spend probably half my time on business and marketing and half painting. I recently created a brochure using Adobe Photoshop Elements and Vistaprint.com on commissions. I actually really enjoy the business piece so I'm lucky that way. You have accomplished so much already. You're well on your way. Alison

Hi Deb:

Sounds like you had a great day!  A few weeks ago I just started doing really tiny paintings as warm ups - sometimes several in a row.  I have a friend who makes glass beads for a living. She has a rule that she has to make one ugly bead every day - so she won't get stuck in all the beautiful ones, afraid of making a 'mistake.'   How insightful!!  I'm trying to follow her lead with my little paintings - simply by creating 'warm-ups' where I don't stress the details, just enjoy the process regardless of the results.

HI Deb:

Yes, I know what you mean about over working a piece.  Its taken me years to realize that every painting has multiple completion points - and if you miss one it can take a long time to get to the next one - and it can become a really different painting. It's just hard when you're caught up nit picking the details to see the whole canvas....  Oh well, such is the life of a painter.

Thanks for writing.  I can tell already that this is a good community.

Barbara

Deb, I particularly like your young ballerinas paintings. They remind me of photos I took of my niece at her classes. I made one painting and gave it to her when she got older and had children of her own. __CRB

Deb, Thanks for the link to Robert Burridge. That's a good idea. Also, I got a friends request from you, but for some reason I can't find a way to add you to my list, and I'd like to do so. Maybe we can work this out, and I'd like to be added to your list, so I'll send a request. Thanks. - Kathy

Hi Deb, The way I got started online was to post a gallery through Artspan.com. It took three years before I made my first sale from that site, but, things have really picked up and Artspan has a higher profile on Google now as well as the individual members. The cost is about $20/month, but it's worth it. Feel free to take a look at my website: www.kacartwright.com. Let me know if you have more questions, because I'm not certain about what it is you want to know. Good luck! - Kathy
