I am just an artist, a painter,
who lives intentionally and enjoys
the moments in time. Like many
artists, I enjoy the process of
creating works as an expression

Love your new work.  Oklahoma has been 107 degrees.  Got through local art fest (I produce it) and waiting for weather to cool so I can do an outdoor mural.  Delivering a restoration today.  My dolls are taking over; selling as fast as I can carve and I love it - call them "My People".  Looking for gallery shows and slowly evolving my web site with paintings a secondary medium.  So good to hear from you; think about your regularly.

Thanks Deb! that video was 'practice' for a real video that I shot last week.  It's being edited now and should be ready in late summer. Working on packaging and labels now, and taking pre-orders. Social media stuff is taking up a lot of time! ;)

HI Deb!!!  How are you?  I'm my usual busy self, but wanted to say hello to you, your new work is beatuiful!  I'm finding I can't keep track of all the things I'm 'on' so I'm reverting back to art scuttlebutt and some facebook .  It all takes TIME!  I mss being in contact with you.  Just spent 2 weeks back in midwest taking care of business for my mom who went into a nursing home in October.

take care and stay in touch!

love, sandy

Deb, Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement. I'm glad you enjoy my masks. I do have some hanging locally and 3 hanging nationally right now. I mention the 3 travelors in my blog: http://www.donmichaeljr.com/blog/2009/04/04/no-rest-yet-blessed/.

I really enjoy your work, as well. Your use of color is right up my alley! Your Cross of Hope series is really cool, but I think my favorite, at least for now, is "Sweltering City". Now I'm going to go check out your blog. Happy Painting!   -Don

thanks for the fast reply.  yes--we as artists sure do need each other!  Hey---good luck on your show coming up and on your classes and wkshps this summer.  I am in a show too this summer . I will post more of my work maybe this week.  it's great that you paint and teach at the same time. I would love to do that too when I teach. Maybe I will consider this although when I paint I listen to loud jazz music in my ear but I guess I can do whatever I want when I teach-it's my space! if you don't mind my asking---how do you manage painting and teaching at the same time?? do you explain as you work to the students?   thanks  marlaya
