David, hi there and thank you for the comment, I appreciate the feedback. I've been doing plein air for about 2 yrs now and am fascinated by the challenge and the rejuvenation I feel after I actually capture a scene the way I feel it.  I try to learn from the work of a couple artists who intrique me: Wm Scott Jennings, Kenn Backhaus, John Budicin, and of course Kevin McPherson.  I also like the title of a couple artists here in Maryland, Armand Cabrera (just moved here from CA) and Ed Cooper. Best to you, Debra

Hi David, thanks for the nice comment you left on my Barred Owl painting. I love your work; it's just beautiful! Your lighting is incredible. I am about to embark on learning oils. I've strugled with them in the past but I'm determined to grasp them and not make mud. I'm going to attend a workshop with Greg Beecham, he's a great wildlife artist. His lighting reminds me alot of your lighting. You should check him out. Keep up the great work! Kelly

Hi David, your comment on my blog has me ready and willing to post more still life rather than deleting my 2 still life additions .. I figure I have 'paid the rent' with some of the still life paintings I have sold so why not show more of them even though I do sell more landscapes than any other subject; maybe its because thats the bulk of what I am painting!

Nice work.  Love the lighting in your landscapes.  I especially like "quiet inspiration".

Stay Cool,

Amazing clarity. The water is so pure and clear. The distance created between the tumbling water, and the waterfall above is luminous.

Congrats!

Hi david, I too like to study the Masters.  Klimt, Monet, Miro, Kandinsky, and Vermeer. (My favorites)  It is such an incredible experience to by right in front of an original painting ans see the brushwork up close.  to see the texture, or the smoothness, to see the way the sunlight was actually created with paint.  I love it and I recommend it to everyone.  to study originals up close.  i have never had formal training or art classes of any kind so this is how I learn.  I look at the artwork up close and I go home and try to recreate it and I work at it til I get it right.  Maybe that is the hard way, but I learn so much about the medium when I do it this way.

David, the vivid colors of your landscapes speak to me. Would you consider being a friend on my site? Cynthia Wolf

Hi David,

Thanks for your comment on my page. David Curtis is one of my favorite contemporary painters.

I enjoyed looking at your work, it's really beautiful. I especially love "on the truckee, verdi - early fall", it has great balance, and the tones are lovely. Excellent work!

Best,

Mineke.

Hi David,

Thanks for your comments on my work and my page.  I have attended art expo in NY last year and in Vegas in September.  Unfortunately it was with the website www.art-exchange.com, who are total scammers.  It was avery costly learning experience, and actually the expo to Vegas, was them making it up to me for a very poor space and one of their salespeople lied to me to get me to book another show with them.  Very unethical group.  At any rate this will be my 1st time in the SOLO Booths at art expo, and the art expo people are incredibly professional and follow through is awesome.  I am both excited and nervous!
