Thanks for the suggestions.  I have looked at those Masterson staywet palettes for years and never actually bought one.  It is nice to know that it actually works!  Here is my confusion point.....mediums.  I spent alot of time doing watercolor, mediums are fun, but certainly not a necessity.  I am getting the impression that this is completely different in the Acrylics arena and frankly, I have no idea how to use them.

David,

Thanks for the lighting information you posted on my blog... I do appreciate very much. I believe I will look into the Excella option... sounds like the best plan. The Ott-lights are very high priced... I found one at Costco for $20. Bought one to test the color, but you are correct- the 13 watt bulb doesn't go very far.

Thanks again for your response. By the way, your work is excellent....

Hi David:

I have a new Art Marketing Group up and running.  It's under Groups on the second page - so you have to hit 'view all' to find it.  There are some good ideas and yours are welcome also. Take care, Barbara

Thank you for your comments about plein air painting studies.I do sell some of my studies...not as rigid about that as some...It is great to have saved some for studio pieces!

Thank you David for your reply and advice.  I'm represented by one gallery in my area and she also has said my work would translate well on a larger canvas...so I guess I'll give it a shot!  As an aside, one of my most favorite places to go is Carmel...as my daughters were growing up, we'd take day trips every once in a while to have lunch in the little park, stroll the beach and, of course, go shopping.  I would also drag them through the "millions" of art galleries.  Have a great day.

Hi David,

Thanks much for your comments on the still life and landscape. This is my year to get up to speed on landscape, I have some intensive study with good instructors and some excursions planned. Thanks for the encouragement. I will post the good stuff eventually. It takes a while to figure out how to approach the landscape in my home of Alaska, sometimes it's difficult to reconcile the human scale with the monumental scale. This has been a whole new discipline for me, after some years quietly focusing on still life set ups in the studio. My first efforts were truly sad! I'm determined to do it though. It's too good an opportunity not to try.
