Two years ago at a fundraising auction, my husband bid on and won (for me) a day of painting lessons with an artist in our area. That was my first introduction to watercolor painting and I fell in love with the medium. I have so much to learn, but my painting classes are the highlight of my week.

Carmela,  Thank you for your kind words, we never get more than we need. Very happy you like the warm and cool reds together.   I am seeing your wonderful  turtles for the first time.  The one swimming looks like he/she is really in the water.   You must be a fast learner.  I think you have a special talent. Keep it up.     Joan

Thanks for the kind words!  Many comment on the fact my colors are very bold and brilliant.  I also use interference adn irridecent paint to change the look in various lighting throughout the day.  I LOVE finger painting it is so natural!

Your work is wonderful, I love the sea life!

Hi, This is soft and lovely.  Did you lay down the washes and then
decide there were flowers in there, or did you start with the idea of
flowers?  You've inspired me to get back to the unfinished painting
I've been staring at all week.  Thanks, Carmela

Laid down the washes with flowers in mind, thrilled to be an inspiration to you!!

the lily painting you commented on is old and actually it was done when I first met the artist in Vermont I told you about. I sold that piece right away (it wasnt very big) but while I am stuck sick at home I am revisiting some of my older work trying to build up to some refreshed inspiration. Maybe I will print this and bring it to the studio to remind myself how to simplify (and p.s. I did pick up soup today)

Carmela, thanks so much for your comment on one of my paintings...i am not new to painting but am new to trying to put my art out there for others to see. Im glad you like that one because it was chosen to be in a group show (the opening is this sunday).

You seem to be a natural at watercolors...the more we do, the better we get !!

Hi Carmela, the painting you inquired about is approx 18 x 42. One thing I love about living close to the Ocean is the BIG drama sky! Love it, I wanted to really focus on the mood of the day...every day actually it wonderful...when you are painting, right? :-) Best of luck to you

I'm impressed...for someone not having an art background...and to use watercolor (that most difficult medium) so calm...I'm jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!  You have beautiful flow in each picture...capturing the mood...that's the main goal in a fine art piece.
