Two years ago at a fundraising auction, my husband bid on and won (for me) a day of painting lessons with an artist in our area. That was my first introduction to watercolor painting and I fell in love with the medium. I have so much to learn, but my painting classes are the highlight of my week.

Hello... your landscapes have a dream-like quality that beckon me.  Very nice.

the new diptych - I decided to use the white frame the other painting was in (the one with the fern stamps) and I am having Corners cut a special matt to fit in the frame so I am bringing the diptych to Paradise City, and I didnt have to spend $140 but rather $34 for the custom matt.

A happy ending

p.s shape of the sun is top right side

get this - I went to the local framer, Corners, found out a plain gold frame for the diptych would cost $140, and decided maybe to add a few more details to it if the frame is going to cost that much! Right now I am not looking at it and tomorrow I may add some detail. There is almost the shape of a sun on the left side, from paint ruffles, and maybe some orange-yellow could define it, and maybe a few more tree details. I am more excited that I figured out how to edit the diptych properly with the clean white space between the 2 parts, something I just learned how to do!

p.s. your photo looks good

I thought I showed everyone last week the new stamps and ink colors I got (I was at both AC Moore and Art Supplies Wholesale last week) and while I was taking my time and playing with the washes, I kind of thought I'd want to use these new stamps and inks.. the ferns are all from pre made stamps, none of them are hand painted.

This painting is about having fun with colors and stamps, not so much a 'serious' watercolor painting.

My opinion - definitely frame them all together, its very interesting as a grouping. your flower looks good and finished now too.

Hi, Carmela! Thank You for your input; I just did that piece today! My birding friends and I were out on Thrusday (in the rain) at Appleton Farms, and I sneaked a photo of them for this digital sketch. I like your work too! Thanks for the invite! I'm new here, and I can use the company!

HA HA .. I have not painted since Friday, until today, and today I did the painting "shade".. but I decided to rework my scuttlebutt gallery to see how all the birch trees look together. I am planning on adding a gallery link of just birch tree paintings to my own website and am testing out how it looks on scuttlebutt and I guess it looks good?

Hi Carmela, yes it is. It's my 5th one since I started last week. I'm finding it to be the best inspirational tool I've used to date. Now I have a focus and a deadline every day. I need that structure or as I like to call it adult supervision. Enjoy the weekend.

wow, I never would have guessed the last 3 additions to your gallery were your paintings! when did you do them? I thought you said you could not paint abstracts??!!!!!! these are fun, but no washes make me sad
