Two years ago at a fundraising auction, my husband bid on and won (for me) a day of painting lessons with an artist in our area. That was my first introduction to watercolor painting and I fell in love with the medium. I have so much to learn, but my painting classes are the highlight of my week.

Hi Carmela!  Thank you for your kind words!  I have struggled with my 'signature' title because I felt I was all over the board withs tyles, so it warmed my heart to hear you say you recognized my work!  WooHOO!!!  I love your posts here, the water and the fall tree are both very pleasing and satisfying works.  I've never played with Pastels ( i'm trying to limit myself right now! )  I hope you have a good holiday in store for you....TODAY I PAINT!!!  Love, Sandy

Hi Carmela, I am so glad you enjoyed the pastel workshop. I was at Martha's Vineyard, just got home tonight, and there was an artist in one of the galleries that used oil pastels with acrylics and her work was amazing! I wanted to do the pastel workshop with you but it just didnt work out for me this summer. The only art I have done since I went to Vermont is practicing with sumi e inks.. my new work is sumi e ink, drawn on 140lb hot press paper. I will pick my favorite drawings to put into another book I started to make. I am hoping to do a bamboo drawing on a full sheet of watercolor paper some time soon, but I wont be 'free' until after August 12. I talked to Monteserrat and am planning on teaching Monday night 7-9 and Wed. morning, 9 to 12, depending on enrollment.

Guess thats all my news for now,

Robin

Thanks so much for your lovely comment on The Dance!  It is one of my favorites too--one of those "happy accidents" that often turn out to show us how wonderful things can be if we do things spontaneously with a bit of chaos in our soul ;o)

Hi Carmela:

Thanks for your note on Hornocopia.  Maybe you should pick those weavers up again and go for it.  Once you've got the basics you never know where under/over will take you.

Hi Carmela, the 2 new works I posted were from casual fun painting with my friend in Vermont this week but the best thing I think I did was I learned how to make a book and I filled the pages of my book with sumi-e ink drawings. I will be adding some poetry and then my home made stamp mark before its done... making books is such a pain in the ass but such a wonderful reward!

Keep up the new works.. great work!
