I paint using iridescent paint on black etch or cotton paper. This paper allows for the illusion of great depth and appears to be of the same color likeness of a beetle shell. My intrigue with nature has me creating all sorts of imaginary creatures. Most of them stem from real life, taken to another realm. My work is meant to fascinate, intrigue and be enjoyed.

Next time your in Vermont, Visit the Fairbanks Museum in Saint Johnsbury.  They have a collection of art done in beetle shells and butterfly wings...OK, not exactly your genre, but interesting none the less, and totally irridesence!

Enjoyed your gallery. I imagine that your work is even more amazing in person. So much fine detail.

How long does it take to produce one of these pieces? What is the scale of your work?

Bouncing, eh?  I have this paper imbedded with mica flecks.  I am not sure if it comes in black, but I will check next time I go to the Langdell Mill.  It might add a little life to the background?
