My name is Burnell Yow! (The exclamation point is part of the name). My studio is called Raven's Wing. I am an intuitive artist working in the varied media of collage, painting, assemblage, sculpture, digital art and photography. I am a member of the Philadelphia Dumpster Divers - an informal group of about 50 artists who use trash and found objects in their art. Visit me at http://www.ravenswingstudio.com

My wife. Making art. Meditation. My Mac. Listening to sacred chant music. Spending time with our six cats. A fire in the fireplace. Sci-Fi.

Cigarettes. Cigars. Loud motorcycles. Negative, hostile attitudes.

Making art for me is both profession and hobby. It's part of every waking moment.

Heard once that the average time a person spends looking at a painting in a gallery is 17 seconds.  I could look at your works for hours.   me

I like the crispness in your work but I must tell you what drew me to your page is your icon. I like that pose and that expression, as though you were a master composer or artist caught pondering the muse.

Love the range of your work.  In the end I would put you into the surrealist box, since I like to do that until I am corrected.  It may be due to your source of materials: dumpsters.  It turns out the best known dumpster here in VT is at a chocolate factory, then Staples.  I don't know what chocolate would do for your art, but you probably have your favorites in Philly too..

Blade Runner is still one of my favorites, as is SciFi, (love those creatures running amuck!) so I  will add you to my friends list in case I watch a bad Sci Fi , I can find you, and alert you, and visa-versa.

I always like your stuff, but just had to let you know I got a real kick out of your "Dolls of Apocalypse"!

Cool stuff. I have to tell you though, for me, your cats upstage everything else on your website. I only have five cats and none play the piano. Which is not to say your art isn't fabulous. It is. But cats....

Merry Christmas Burnell. I hear we're both dumpster divers. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

My Christmas card to you:  In the quiet moments of a winter's day May you reflect on the peace and meaning of Christmas.
