This site can be a bit addictive! I truly appreciate all the comments, points of view, along with making new friends. As a self taught artist, it is really nice to hear from other, more experienced artist, than myself and gain from their experience.

I enjoy paintings with strong composition, saturated color, and a dash of texture.

I prefer to paint images where the subject is still, but the colors and textures have movement.

During the process of painting a picture I do a lot of experimenting , looking for a new approach to a painting. This shows up most in the way I portray the relationship between the subject and its surroundings.

The Masters, the colors of Camille Pissarro, the light of Monet, the movement of Van Gogh, and the classical beauty of Michelangelo and Vermeer, inspire me.

Take care,

Brian Ezzell

Thank you for your comment about my paintings.  I do look at nature and certain trees as sacred sites.  Being in New Zealand you know that the native race there believes that people are connected to certain sacred sites., especially the women, who return to them at times with others from their families.

Thanks for visiting my site and for your positive comments. I'm not much of a salesman, but I am very encouraged by the positive feedback from this site. I always think that there is so much amazing art out there that mine is not good enough to sell. Interestingly, a recent art calendar article said that all art, no matter how good or bad, has a market and is marketable, you just have to find it.   I need to start looking harder.

BZBZBZ, it will happen when the moment presents itself, if you are prepared.  Jack

I find your comments on finding Buddha-nature in your subjects to be akin to my way of being in the world and finding beauty in just about any corner one can look in a position of creativity.  Thanks for verbalizing it.  Jack

Hello BZBZBZ. Thanks for the kind remarks. RE: your question about 'approach'...   I've just tried to find every avenue possible in which I can share my work with the public....  I love for it to be seen....   No worries whether they get anything from it or not....I just put it out there..  Amazingly, I've sold alot of work and now I've been asked to exhibit in different places...this is so much fun!!!  Gotta love it!!! Thanks again for visiting my page.  If you get an opportunity...visit my website... please give me some feedback.  Thanks Again for sahring your work.

Thanks for the comment, I was by myself the day I took this and you could hear your footsteps in the snow.  I walked in this area for about four hours and never did hear or see another person.
