Over the years Artman Greg has utilized a variety of media in his work, including oils, watercolor, collage, and photography, but scratchboard is his favorite medium. "I love the way scratchboard emphasizes the dramatic contrasts between black and white. Working with scratchboard gives me a connection to my art that I don't always get with other mediums. I like making art that is thought-provoking and interesting to look at."

Thanks for your kind comments... I appreciate it. Most of my subject matter is in Texas, but some are in various states in the "Old South". The "Mennonite Barn" painting is near the base of Star Mountain near Delano, Tennessee. The one called "Forgotten" is near Floyd, Gerogia (if memory serves me...) A few more are from the Appalachian Mountain area- Gatlinburg, Cherokee, N.C.

And you are right, we share the love of the Lord. He is Awesome!

P.S. Your "Disc Jockey" piece is a cool image.

Greg, thank you for joining my friends list. I really like the first scratch board you posted. I am most interested in your profile as you listed the Bible as a favorite book. I am a believer and am seeking to glorifying God through my artwork too. I am finding it is a way to help others to consider Him through His creation. I'll write more later, right now I need to get to work.

It's amazing the creative capacity of scratchboard--and you have an interestingly varied take on the world (based on the three examples you've posted. i like it.

I have not used scratch board since I was in high school. What a nice concept. Get creative and let your mind flow.
