Jared,  Thanks for the comment.  A mission in SLC would be great I would think.  I love your portraits... the way you can capture a likeness is amazing.  Bill Cosby has always been a favorite of mine.  I wish there were more comedians like him.  Is his portrait done in Acrylic?  The richness of color looks like oil.  Great work.

Jared, thanks again for your encouragement on the Reagor Springs piece. Plein air work does tend to force the simplicity.

The "footprints" you mention do seem to add a bit of understated mystery... to me the mystery relates to the shortness of life, the relentless passing of time. Things that were once new, places that once heard laughter - now sit silent, slowly becoming less and less of themselves. The second law of thermodynamics in action...

I look forward to seeing the final "Oli" North portrait. I'm one of the few artist who actually like Oliver North.

Thanks for visiting my site..I don't do the large pen and ink drawings anymore because of carpal tunnel. That's why I'm working with wax pastels now.

I just came to that conclusion this year myself.  Ego runs high in collegiate art departments, it seems...and the jury is still out on whether or not the MFA hurts or helps an exhibition career...but the truth is, you can't teach in higher ed without it.  I got accepted to the MFA school I wanted...now I have to find the funds to go...or decide to abandon ship and find some other way to make a living.  My other masters degrees just aren't worth what they used to be......

Isn't is amazing how one piece will get so much attention? then another one you REALLY are proud of gets zip.  The series I'm doing with the blonde figure has me really excited but it is NOT well received.  I started a big version today.  Not going to slow me down.

I'll be looking for your work.

I don't think I've been in any very recent publications that I know of, but sometimes my gallery sends things out to magazines that I don't know about until later.

Yeah...in general my students think I'm quite a character.........

I want you to check this out.  Jetcri had a blog entitled "Just One Woman's View...", but View was misspelled ''Fiew", concerning female nudes.  Some of your work fills the missing links, and I thought you would get a kick out of my quaint observations right along with Jetcri....Just go up to the heading list and click on blogs...you will find it easier that way.
