Hi Selliot-Thanks for the praise. And yes I know how it makes you feel when someone appreciates your work.  I looked at your art and its great!  You are excellent at drawing and thats what it takes to be a great artist.  Color will come - just study the work of your favorite artist.  I will make a serious attempt to post the technique for using masa paper.  Thanks again Sue

Hi Sue.. I havent been as active on the site and its good to hear from you. I have wondered if the owl painting is any good, I kind of did it for fun over the weekend and the owl is collaged on, not sure if its a favorite for me because as you pointed out, the paint is heavy. The other painting you commented on was done at an art auction last night and I had to start and finish it in 2 hrs! I spattered color at the bottom, thats the last stage of painting for me. I didnt use any salt but I did let water drip to create water marks. I did use alot of wash colors because every time I dried the paint, it lighted up about 2 shades and with watercolor sometimes you really have to build with washes.

Maybe I will change the owl painting tomorrow.. its still too new to be officially done!

Hi, and thanks for your comment!  "The World" was made for my son and new daughter in law who were just married in New Zealand in February...so, in total, it is 36" x 36", but it's in three pieces.  The idea being that in 20 years, maybe a huge "mother in law" painting might be burdensome, and that the 3 pieces might be hung separately if so desired.

So, it's their world....the mountains of North Carolina merged with "down under" coral reef....and collaged in is tons of stuff, all representing their families.....from a sister's tutu netting (in the mountains) to a great grandmother's piano music (one of the fish).  Their hands are collaged into the bottom of the sea....and a poem that he wrote her is written into the top of the sky.

It was a great work of love.

And, I've greatly enjoyed looking at your page, all the gorgeous horses, my favorites, and the whimsical trees.  I'd ask you to be my "friend", but I don't know how!

Cheers,

Susan

Thanks!  I'm glad you liked my stained glass of the Grand Tetons.  It is 36" in diameter and I made it for our home, so it is not for sale.  Your comments are greatly appreciated and you are very kind.

Your work is amazing.  I love the one of the moose in the tree trunks.  Beautiful.

Thank you again.  Kathleen Krucoff

Do you have a website? Gotta get a better look at this background and more of your work. Stunning!

Thanks so much! The painting is 6x6".  Quite a challenge for me. Used to no smaller than 12x12". Enjoy the weekend.
