Thank you for the kind words and for the viewing my portfolio.  In the photograph you commented on I was trying to give the same sensation you get when having a nightmare and you are falling.

I like the drawing of your Freaked Out Trees, good work.

Regards,

SCB

Hello,

I lived in Newport, Oregon when we had the

fishing boats. I fished for over 25 years and

then health problems forced my retirement.

We sold the boats and moved to my wife's

home state, Montana where she could be

close to her family. I do feel a little like a

fish out of water here, but the northern area

of Montana where we live is wonderful. It has

been a tough winter this year and we still have

a couple of feet of snow on the ground. I do

miss the ocean a lot, but that is now a past

life for me.

I'm sure that once you get moved full time to

Montana you will not have a problem finding a

place to sell your art. I live in Libby, Montana

which is at the extreem north/west end of the

state. Lots of mountians and trees!

Good luck with your art.......................

Hey Selliot,  Thank you for taking the time to visit my work.  In regards to your statement about being weak on marketing, my advise to you is to just go out and do it.  Be sure not to look at it from a success or failure point of view.  Think of it as a chance to gain experience in presenting yourself and your work.  Also, ask the gallery, which you are presenting to, for suggestions.  Perhaps you are not a good fit for a gallery, but they may know another gallery who is.  Each time you do this you are preparing for the eventual success.  I was in your shoes not too long ago and my first gallery was a rejection, but they recommended another gallery and that was a success.  It's all learning.  Take care.

thanks for your comment. this piece is done with encaustics - wax painting. i use a mixture of heated waxes. as you can imagine, there is little time and even less control ...

Thanks for you comment, I primed this one black and used guilders paste for the simple colors.  I had to hand rub and mix them similar to oils but thicker

Cheers

Steve
