Hey Selliot,  Thank you for taking the time to visit my work.  In regards to your statement about being weak on marketing, my advise to you is to just go out and do it.  Be sure not to look at it from a success or failure point of view.  Think of it as a chance to gain experience in presenting yourself and your work.  Also, ask the gallery, which you are presenting to, for suggestions.  Perhaps you are not a good fit for a gallery, but they may know another gallery who is.  Each time you do this you are preparing for the eventual success.  I was in your shoes not too long ago and my first gallery was a rejection, but they recommended another gallery and that was a success.  It's all learning.  Take care.

thanks for your comment. this piece is done with encaustics - wax painting. i use a mixture of heated waxes. as you can imagine, there is little time and even less control ...

Thanks for you comment, I primed this one black and used guilders paste for the simple colors.  I had to hand rub and mix them similar to oils but thicker

Cheers

Thank you for checking out my work. i just got started today and am trying to figure out how to get around. I saw your work on line. I think the hourse with the colt is very delicate!

In response to your question, no it wasnt photoshopped. It washed up during a big wind storm and was completely waterlogged, which brought out all those gorgeous colors. I took a few more pictures of it a few weeks later once it was dried out, and the colors were just not the same.

Hi Selliot!

Thanks for your kind remarks about my turtle.  It's my favorite piece because it reminds me of my cousin.  (He was an amateur herpatologist who turned me onto turtles long ago.  He died about 14 years ago and I did that piece as a tribute.)

The color has held up really well.  Ph Martin colors are fabulous but pretty unforgving.  Once you lay them down on paper or illustration oard, they are there for life!

I'm enjoying your site as well.  I notice you keep uploading stuff and every piece gets better and better.  I love the tree and the horses.  The composition is great!
