Hi Selliot, thanks for your comments.. I usually make my own stencils, in this it is the design you referred to as wallpaper that is a stencil pattern...but I bought this one.  First I load heavy medium on to the canvas  usually a joint compound mix with primer,or textured paint. then I texture it. then work with it like a fresco...the compound is still damp and the paint gets absorbed into it.  many layers of glaze or watered down paint to build up the shadow and depth...really cant see the texture in this photo. In this one I then took the flat side of a brush with some metallic silver and bronze paints and brushed it over the raised stencil.... then the final touch was to paint on the flowers.......

Hi Selliot!! Thank you for visiting my page. You asked about my Magueyes they are acrylic. I work mostly watercolor and acrylic, sometimes pastel. Your tree pieces most of all the Concerned mother, are incredible. You can't imagine how a huge tree fan I am!!!  When my daughter asked me: Mom what animal you would wanna be? she freaked out when I told her: I want to be a tree! she doesn't understand why! Trees are what makes my life on this planet worthliving, do you Know the Ceiba tree? tree of the mayan culture? If not I will tell you about it. See you....

thank you for the comments on "the barn" it is done with oils in a wet-on-wet technique. I prepared the canvas by crackling it first. Thats what give the picture it unique look. It was really fun to do. I learned to paint thru the Bob Ross organization but I do my own thing. I now do encaustic, too

Thanks again

Hello Selliot.. thanks for visiting.  I used a photo on this one. Set this painting aside for a long time... I couldn't get re-inspired to finish it... but all of a sudden...it was back on the easel.  My last name means "Ram"... I guess thts why I like them  ...  Thanks Again...     I love the 'tall' tree, with the hug...  It's a greatttt one.

Hi Selliot,  a few days ago while I was on this site I saw your drawings and left you a comment ...I loved your trees.  then this weekend I was just out hiking and I saw this tree that reminded me of your work...I was so excited so I looked up and took a photo of the one you recently left a comment on...So yes it's a photo inspired by you...... synchronicity here...  I used neon glow in photoshops which added some of the color affects.
