I think nature lovers find eachother, you seem to love trees, like me.

Hello pattieba,

Thanks
for the compliments!  Depending on the painting, I treat/prime
paperboard with either Liquitex's "Gloss Medium & Varnish", Latex
house paint, gesso, or acrylic paint.

As for the eBay stuff:
It's pretty disappointing.  eBay started out as a fun adventure for
many artists.  Then they changed many of the rules and raised fees, but
it was still tolerable.  Now, with the newest round of changes and fee
increases, many sellers are finding it to be just not worth it
anymore.  It's sad.  I guess we'll wait and see what eBay does in the
future; But for now, I'm looking elsewhere.

Stay Cool,

Yes Pattie,  Nature is my greatest source of inspiration... I am looking at 2 of your paintings  as I write this and I just love your colors, the purples with green and yellow and orange.... I love the trees...When you say spiritual leaders  (books you like) do mean like Deepak chopra, Marianne Williamson, Eckhart Tolle?  just curoius.  reading the work of both Deepak and Eckhart Tolle has really helped me to get into the FLOW with my work....

Hi Pattie,  Thank you for your comments.  Yes the sheep are New Zealand sheep.  Suffolk Sheep. That painting is in a private collection in Cambridge New Zealand. I only work in Oil, although I would like to work in Water Color some day when I am set up properly for it.

You know who your work reminds me of.  Kahlll Gibran.  Your landscapes and trees especially.  Take care...

I don't know if I'm responding on the right vein, or whatever you call it, but in answer to your question the painting is oil and was done on location over a period of about 5 sessions.  Being there is as important to me as the finished product and many times the finished product is not worth presenting, so it gets painted over.  10% inpiration, 90% perspiration.  Thanks for looking at my work.  Jack

Thanks for visiting my site and for the comment regarding the light in my Northern Utah Barn painting.  I also belong to a coop gallery and enjoy it very much.  I look forward to reviewing your work.

Thanks for visiting my site. Sorta new to all of this, but i appreciate the feedback. I have taught at this school for the last 17 years. Its a boarding school in the middle of nowhere PA.I would imagine Oregon would even make a landscape painter out of anyone! My father is a landscape painter and the sense of horizontal has always been in my work. For more examples, you can see more at www.mountainteastudios.com. Take Care-Mark
